The world of rodeo was Rod's life for more than thirty years. During those years he enjoyed the extreme life of bull riding, steer wrestling, and team roping. Rod has trained over 2,000 2007 horse of the year: "Rod is a true master with my young horses, his skills and talent as a rider, together with his kindness, and knowledge of horses is a rare delight in this day and age, we are thrilled he trains for us."
His skills earned him the prestigious First Americans In The Arts award for stunts in 2000. His work with Indian youth awarded him "Mentor of the Year" from the Santa Barbara Native Arts Festival in 2001.
He recently completed stunts and the role of "Slow Tree" on Larry McMurtry's Comanche Moon, he also appeared in TNT's INTO THE WEST in the role of Roman Nose. His fight scene with Russell Crowe in 310 to Yuma is a must see. His stage coach take down in episode 4 "Hell On Wheels" is not one to be missed! . Thanks to Mark Brooks for taking such a fall!
